A warning, though -- these pictures are rather large.

So, you want to know about me, eh?

When I first started to think about what to put on this page, I sent an e-mail to my best friends asking, "How would you describe me to a total stranger? (Lots of adjectives please!)" I got a very good answer out of one of them. (One out of three's not to bad.)

Hmm...

short
hour-glass figure
long, Pooh-colored hair (as in Winnie-the-Pooh)
bubbly and fun in a good mood
prickly (*Understatement Alert*) in a bad mood
loyal
dedicated
insecure, but with the appearance of pride
slightly moody
willing to help
generous
intelligent
creative
willing to express opinions
polite
vocal
innocently cynical; optimistically pessimistic

I guess, looking back, I'm a bit of a paradox sometimes. But, she knows me best. As a thank you for her help, I'll stick a plug in here for her page.

Well, I suppose I could be a little more specific. I'm 17, and I live in a one-horse town in Wisconsin. I started this page because I had such a hard time finding literary criticism on the internet for my AP English class. And I wasn't the only one. I was looking for pages to send my class to, and hoping I'd find a page like my own. Then it occured to me that I should start a page that would be a starting point for people in my same situation. And Literary Criticism on the Web was born.

Oh, wait. You wanted to know about ME. Well, I'm a member of the SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter at my high school. I'm also a member of our band, which does concert music, pep band, and marching band. I'm in the choir and participate in Solo/Ensesmble. I've been in Forensics for the past three years and will be again this year. I always do Farrago (the easiest explanation -- taking pieces from different literary genres and combining them using a common theme). My freshmen year I did a piece on war, last year it was child abuse (my best!), and this year I'm doing a piece on fathers. I play tennis as often as I can. I love it! I lettered this past fall, playing 3 and 4 singles on varsity.

Outside of school, I love sewing and needlework. (This would surprise you if you knew me.) One day I hope to design costumes for theatre and movies. Or, barring that, I'd like to start my own business. I also play piano, flute, bass guitar, and french horn. I'm currently learning Ancient Greek, and as soon as I get the swing of that, I plan on starting to learn Latin. I work at my local library (BIG cush job), where I teach beginning computer and manage the web site, among other jobs. Beyond that, my free time goes to this web site.

Well, that's about all I can think of... I hope that satisfies your curiousty about me!
